March Update

The days are getting longer the mild weather continues, more of a chance to get the racket out and hit a few balls!

We have more developments on the way at the clubhouse with electrical work and decoration next on the programme – We welcome Stuart Annett to the committee to lead the next stages of the building and works and thank Graham and especially Peter Smith for all their support over the winter months to help us get our new toilet facility completed.

The Pimms stand at the Misterton Fete (22nd June) will again be hosted by Misterton Tennis Club. This year thanks go to Tim Bradley who has offered to lead the team to make the event a great success for the club as it was last year.

The last AGM minutes are now published with a change to the website so that the menu option for the Events Programme also links to the last AGM minutes. If you have any questions or suggestions please comment below.

Lastly we are looking at a new on line court booking system for the club – more on that over the next month as we will be trialling a well tried system which should make it easier for those who do not live nearby to be able to schedule a court.

Pimms at Misterton Fete – 22nd June

Dear Members,

After fun day last year we are planning to run the Pimms stand again at the Misterton Fete.

This year unfortunately Carol and Mark cannot attend so we are looking for one or two of our members who might be willing to organise this years event.

Our 2018 success was due to the efforts of Carol and Mark who set in place a model for operating the stand and how to produce the perfect Pimms cocktail.
So we already know how many bottles of lemonade & Pimms, how much fruit & ice, drink preparation, the number of drink receptacles and a straight forward preparation process to follow.

There will be members of the committee helping on the day so support will be there to make it a success.

Please contact one of our committee members or myself if you are interested – we can answer any questions.

Getting Ready for Wimbledon!

Thanks to all who opted in for the Ballot – This year 47 members signed up to be included in the ballot for tickets which will give us around 8 pairs hopefully for the upcoming event.

This warm weather is unusual so make good use of it and brush off those tennis cobwebs!

Merry Christmas to all our members!

The Misterton tennis management team would like to wish all our members a Happy Christmas and New Year.

If you come down to the club over Christmas for a gentle hit to burn off a few calories you will see the new extension.

We all would like to thank Peter Smith and Graham for the many hours they have spent on the construction.

Along with members who also gave up their time, we have built and assembled an excellent addition to our facilities ready to have the toilet, plumbing and electrical fittings installed in the New Year.

We will be looking for volunteers again in January to help us fit out the inside so we have the whole thing ready to have an opening ceremony in the spring.

If there is anything you would like us to do next year in the way of events or functions or would like to see something done please let us know, ideally through the website.

We appreciate your membership and look forward to seeing you in 2019!

Cold Weather – watch out!

As the weather gets colder make sure you empty the kettles before leaving the clubhouse just in case we have a freeze overnight.

We will probably have some residual heating in the clubhouse once the extension is completed but until then let’s take precautions to avoid damage.

If the weather is forecasted to go below zero Carol or Graham will be turning off the water to prevent flooding or plumbing damage.

Risk Assessment Policy

For all members to take note:
